Another major contributing factor to loss at self-checkout occurs when customers leave the POS terminal with unpaid products in their hands, basket or cart before completing their transaction. Evercheck provides smart detection by alerting only on unpaid purchasable products, excluding personal items. Moreover, the solution is configurable and can be tailored to the retailer's bullpen configuration and overall front-end requirements.

An additional critical factor for retailers in mitigating loss at self-checkout is the ability to instantly recognize fresh produce items. Evercheck allows customers to place their fresh produce on the self-checkout scale and immediately identifies the item with best-in-class accuracy. Furthermore, Evercheck offers a flexible and configurable UI, along with simple customer messaging. Importantly, the solution can recognize fresh produce even when bagged.

Evercheck applies the same LISA and BOB principles of Basket-Based Loss to Cart-Based Loss – leading to the loss recovery at self-checkout for any unscanned items left inside or at the bottom of the shopping cart. Evercheck will trigger real-time alerts to store associates to assist customers when it detects unscanned items as payment begins. Importantly, alerts are only generated for the retailer’s products, not personal items (e.g. cell phones, handbags, hoodies).

Similarly, it provides a real-time alert for associates to verify scan accuracy at staffed lanes.
